Raul Rikk from Estonia at Smart Cities Week Australia

Raul Rikk, Program Director of National Security, e-Governance Academy of Estonia will be talking at the Smart Cities Week Australia as part of the Nordic delegation.

Raul Rikk is one of the founders of NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence in Tallinn Estonia, leading its establishment from 2004 to 2008 and is the head of National Cyber Security Domain at the e-Governance Academy Foundation. Raul has worked in the field of national defence and security since 1994 and has been part of the Estonian Cyber Security Strategy Working Group since 2007. Internationally Raul has been working on national cyber security capacity building countries such as Georgia, Moldova, Albania and others.

The Nordic delegation at the Smart Cities Week Australia will discuss engagement of community in city planning, collection and protection of community data as well as utilising multiple data sources to develop liveable cities. The delegation has been arranged through the collaboration of Nordic embassies and besides Raul Rikk from Estonia includes such notable speakers as Peter Bjørn Larsen (from Denmark), Peder Baltzer Nielsen (from Denmark), Hanna Niemi-Hugaerts (from Finland), Michael Nilsson (from Sweden) and Peter Austin (from Norway).

In addition to group discussion with the Nordic delegation, Raul Rikk is also a featured speaker at Smart Cities Week Australia on the topic of cyber secure cities. He will be talking about the range of potential risks from cyber threats as well as future possibilities and minimising risk.

Smart Cities Week Australia is taking place in Sydney 29 October - 1 November 2018.
