EACCI Board meets Taavi Rõivas, Former Prime Minister of Estonia

On 29 August 2018, the Directors of EACCI had the honour and pleasure to meet with Taavi Rõivas, Member of the Estonian Parliament and former Prime Minister of Estonia during his work visit to Australia.

During the meeting the participants discussed the importance of strengthening the economic ties between Australia and Estonia primarily in the field of innovation, digitalisation and cyber security. Rõivas stated that the cooperation between Australia and Estonia to date, such as that in the field of eGovernance, is only just the beginning in terms of potential and acknowledged the importance of establishing such organisation as Estonian Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which would create networking opportunities between the Estonian and Australian business communities.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Rõivas signed the guest book wishing EACCI success in achieving their objectives.

Taavi Rõivas visited Sydney in late August 2018 to talk at ADMA Global Forum 2018 about how Estonia simplified bureaucratic interactions for its citizens, saved time and money and became an example of what can be achieved when government meets technology in the service of its citizens.
