The World Solar Challenge has welcomed the brightest minds to push the limits of technology in the Australian desert for over 30 years as the first competition took place in 1987. The 3000 km endurance race on the outback routes from Darwin to Adelaide lasts for 6 days during which the competitors must complete the race using solar energy and relying on their efficient and innovative engineering solutions. The competition is followed by 15 million people worldwide!
